Version 1.0

Version: 1.0
Effective date: <uzupełnij>[DATA WEJŚCIA W ŻYCIE STANDARDÓW SPOŁECZNOŚCI]

1. Why the Community Standards exist

ReputoNode is intended to enable the exchange of knowledge, experience, opinions and valuable materials. The Community Standards explain in plain language what Content and behaviour are accepted and what may be restricted or removed.

The Community Standards form an integral part of the ReputoNode Terms of Service. Capitalised terms have the meanings assigned to them in the Terms of Service. In the event of any conflict between the Community Standards and the Terms of Service, the Terms of Service take precedence.

The examples given in this document are not an exhaustive list. Behaviour not expressly listed may still be considered prohibited if it is unlawful, infringes the rights of others, circumvents Portal rules, threatens security or constitutes misuse of ReputoNode functionality.

2. The most important community rules

When using ReputoNode:

  • assess specific Content first and foremost, not the worth of a person;
  • criticise views, arguments, actions and materials without degrading their author;
  • distinguish facts from opinions, assumptions and personal experience;
  • do not claim qualifications you do not have;
  • clearly disclose advertising, sponsorship, commercial cooperation and other benefits;
  • respect the privacy, image rights, copyrights and safety of others;
  • do not manipulate Reactions or Reputation;
  • choose the Category and Post Type according to the actual content of the publication;
  • report illegal or rule-violating Content instead of organising an attack on its author.

Strong criticism, an unpopular opinion, a dispute, satire or disagreement are not violations in themselves. The boundaries include, in particular, unlawfulness, threats, harassment, degradation, discrimination, fraud, infringement of the rights of others and a real threat to other people.

3. Scope of the Standards

The Standards apply to all elements shared or used in ReputoNode, including in particular:

  • Posts, Comments and Replies;
  • usernames and display names;
  • avatars, bios and other Profile elements;
  • images, videos, graphics, audio and other Media;
  • links, link previews, tags and contact details;
  • R+ and R− Reactions;
  • Reports, appeals and correspondence with the Service Provider;
  • technical actions performed using an Account or directed at the Portal.

The rules also apply to Content shared in modified form, through an additional Account, by means of an external link or using automation.

4. Illegal Content and circumvention of the law

You may not publish, promote, organise or facilitate unlawful activities. This also applies to links, instructions, offers, files and data that enable unlawful activity to be carried out.

In particular, it is prohibited to:

  • use the Portal to commit, commission or facilitate a criminal offence;
  • sell or offer items or services whose trade is illegal;
  • publish materials obtained unlawfully;
  • circumvent orders issued by authorities, blocks, restrictions or safeguards;
  • republish Content removed due to a violation without eliminating the cause of the violation.

Invoking freedom of expression, education, art, satire or the public interest does not by itself make lawful Content whose publication is prohibited by law.

5. Violence, threats and criminal activity

The following Content and activities are prohibited:

  • unlawful threats against a person or group of people;
  • incitement to violence, killing, assault or other serious harm;
  • identifying a specific target, location or method for carrying out an attack;
  • planning, coordinating, commissioning or facilitating criminal offences;
  • encouraging serious criminal conduct or presenting it as conduct to emulate;
  • supporting terrorist or extremist organisations in a manner prohibited by law;
  • recruiting for terrorist, extremist or criminal activity.

Lawful reporting or discussion of violence, crime, war, terrorism or extremism may be permitted for journalistic, historical, educational, scientific, critical or documentary purposes. However, the Content must not genuinely facilitate a criminal offence or create a direct threat.

6. Hate and discrimination

It is prohibited to incite hatred, violence, persecution or unlawful discrimination against a person or group of people on grounds including in particular:

  • race or skin colour;
  • national or ethnic origin;
  • nationality;
  • religion or lack of religion;
  • sex;
  • sexual orientation;
  • disability;
  • another characteristic protected by law.

People may not be dehumanised or portrayed as requiring physical elimination, violence, forced isolation or persecution because of such characteristics.

Lawful criticism of views, behaviour, religions, doctrines, ideologies, parties, organisations, institutions, practices and public figures is permitted. Criticism may be strong, polemical, satirical or negative, but it must not turn into threats, harassment, incitement to violence or attacks on people solely because of their characteristics.

7. Harassment, intimidation, insults and coordinated attacks

It is prohibited to:

  • persistently harass, stalk or intimidate;
  • make threats or encourage others to harass someone;
  • organise a coordinated attack against a specific person;
  • publish degrading or sexually humiliating material about a person;
  • repeatedly contact a person in order to cause fear or pressure;
  • use personal data, a person's image or whereabouts to intimidate them;
  • encourage the community to mass-attack an author's Account, Content or Reputation.

Profanity, an emotional statement or strong criticism do not automatically constitute a violation. Direct degrading insults, persistent abuse, threats and behaviour forming part of harassment or a coordinated attack are prohibited.

When assessing a case, Moderation may take into account the frequency, intensity, context, purpose, relationship between the parties and the foreseeable impact of the behaviour on the person concerned.

8. Privacy, personal data and doxxing

You may not publish another person's data without an appropriate basis, particularly where doing so may expose that person to harassment, fraud, identity theft or physical danger.

Particular protection should be given to, among other things:

  • a home address and precise whereabouts;
  • a private telephone number and email address;
  • document, account and card numbers and other financial data;
  • passwords, tokens, private keys, access codes and API keys;
  • data concerning health, sexuality, family life or correspondence;
  • information about minors;
  • data revealing the whereabouts of a person who may be at risk.

Doxxing is prohibited. This means disclosing or compiling data for the purpose of intimidation, harassment, retaliation, exerting pressure or encouraging others to attack someone.

The fact that information is available in a public register, search engine or another place does not always mean that it may be redistributed for any purpose and in any context.

When publishing a document, correspondence, screenshot, recording or image, remove or obscure data whose disclosure is unnecessary.

9. Image, voice, recordings and intimate material without consent

A User should have the appropriate rights, consent or another legal basis for publicly using another person's image, voice or recording.

In particular, it is prohibited to:

  • publish intimate images or recordings without the consent of the person depicted;
  • threaten to publish such materials;
  • create or distribute sexual deepfakes depicting a real person;
  • unlawfully publish a recording of a private conversation;
  • use another person's image or voice for fraud, humiliation or impersonation;
  • publish material created in a place where a person could reasonably expect privacy when there is no appropriate basis for publication.

Merely participating in an event, conversation or recording does not always constitute consent to its public distribution.

10. Impersonation, fake Accounts and false qualifications

It is prohibited to create an Account or Content that misleads recipients as to:

  • the identity of the person operating the Account;
  • the official nature of the Account;
  • an affiliation with a company, organisation, institution or public figure;
  • qualifications, licences or authority held;
  • authorship of Content;
  • endorsement, recommendation or cooperation that does not exist.

Parody, satirical, fan and commentary Accounts are permitted if their nature is clearly indicated and they do not mislead a reasonable recipient.

You may not use another entity's name, avatar, trademark or materials in order to appropriate its identity, reputation, customers or recipient data.

11. Protection of minors

ReputoNode does not allow people under the age of 18 to create Accounts, but public Content may also be technically accessible without logging in. Any publication concerning a minor requires particular care.

The following are strictly prohibited:

  • sexual exploitation of minors;
  • sexualisation of a child;
  • sexual or pornographic material depicting a minor or a person who appears to be a minor;
  • grooming, meaning gaining a child's trust for the purpose of sexual exploitation;
  • encouraging a minor to send intimate material;
  • organising, facilitating or concealing the exploitation of a child;
  • publishing a child's data or precise Location in a way that may put the child in danger;
  • ridiculing, degrading or exploiting a child's image in a way that may harm the child;
  • synthetic or modified sexual material using a child's image.

An artistic, humorous or educational context, or a declaration of parental consent, does not justify the sexual exploitation or harm of a minor.

12. Pornography, sexual Content and nudity

Pornography is prohibited on ReputoNode. The prohibition also covers pornographic animations, graphics and materials generated or modified by artificial intelligence.

The following are also prohibited:

  • promoting or offering sexual services;
  • publishing sexual Content without the consent of the person depicted;
  • sexual exploitation, sexual violence and material resulting from such acts;
  • Content whose dominant purpose is the explicit depiction of sexual acts or intimate body parts for the sexual arousal of the recipient.

Non-pornographic nudity may be permitted only in a genuinely justified medical, educational, scientific, historical, documentary or artistic context. Intimate body parts should be covered, blurred or cropped out. Merely labelling material as “art”, “education” or “medicine” does not determine whether it is permitted.

ReputoNode does not currently have a system for marking Content as sensitive or a warning screen shown before it is opened. Material that is too explicit or graphic for a publicly accessible Portal may therefore be removed rather than merely labelled.

13. Suicide, self-harm and dangerous behaviour

Responsible Content concerning mental health, prevention, seeking help, recovery, personal experiences and supporting other people is permitted.

However, it is prohibited to:

  • encourage suicide or self-harm;
  • glorify such actions;
  • ridicule a person who is in crisis;
  • provide instructions that increase the likelihood of successfully harming oneself;
  • organise joint self-harm or suicide;
  • encourage a specific person to harm themselves;
  • present dangerous behaviour as safe without disclosing material risks.

Content concerning dangerous challenges, substances, experiments, technical work or risky behaviour should clearly present the risks and must not encourage thoughtless imitation.

14. Graphic material and cruelty to animals

Material depicting blood, serious injury, death, corpses, warfare or other graphic events may be permitted only when genuinely necessary for information, documentation, education, science, history or warning of a danger.

Material published primarily for the purpose of the following is prohibited:

  • displaying suffering for shock value;
  • humiliating a victim;
  • intimidation or harassment;
  • glorifying violence;
  • encouraging imitation of violent behaviour;
  • deriving entertainment from the real suffering of people or animals.

Actual cruelty to animals, organising animal fights, glorifying abuse and creating staged “rescue” content in which an animal was intentionally harmed or placed in danger beforehand are prohibited.

Lawful documentary, veterinary, wildlife, agricultural, hunting or food-preparation material may be permitted if it does not promote cruelty and shows only the extent justified by the genuine purpose of the publication.

15. Fraud, phishing and harmful deception

Fraud and attempted fraud are prohibited, including in particular:

  • phishing and theft of login credentials;
  • obtaining money, financial data or documents by deception;
  • fake fundraising campaigns, investments, competitions and job offers;
  • pyramid schemes and other systems intended to obtain unlawful benefits;
  • impersonation for the purpose of obtaining money or information;
  • directing users to websites used for fraud;
  • creating forged documents, evidence or communications from institutions;
  • falsely claiming qualifications in order to gain trust, money or access.

An ordinary mistake, unpopular opinion, incorrect conclusion or genuine dispute about facts are not automatically violations.

However, Content creating a serious and immediate risk to health, life or safety may also be restricted or removed where it cannot be established that the author deliberately lied. Examples include:

  • encouraging the use of a toxic substance as a safe treatment;
  • a false alarm capable of causing panic or directing people to a dangerous place;
  • instructions for a dangerous activity presented as completely safe;
  • encouraging someone to discontinue necessary treatment in an immediately life-threatening situation;
  • distributing false safety instructions during a real emergency.

Moderation should distinguish a serious threat from an ordinary error, satire, debate, scientific uncertainty and a difference of opinion.

16. Illegal and regulated goods and services

ReputoNode may not be used to sell, buy, offer, advertise or broker items or services whose trade is prohibited.

The prohibition includes in particular:

  • illegal drugs and other prohibited substances;
  • weapons, ammunition or explosives offered unlawfully;
  • stolen goods;
  • forged documents and data used for fraud;
  • malicious software and services used for unlawful access;
  • other goods or services whose offering is unlawful.

Content concerning goods or services that are legal but subject to specific restrictions must comply with the applicable rules on advertising, sale, recipient age and required permits.

ReputoNode is not currently a marketplace or a party to contracts entered into between Users.

17. Copyright, trademarks, image rights and third-party materials

Publish only materials that you created, for which you hold the appropriate rights, or which you may lawfully use under a licence, consent or an applicable permitted-use exception.

Merely finding material on the Internet does not mean you have the right to copy it.

In particular, you may not:

  • publish another person's work in full without a legal basis;
  • remove authorship notices, watermarks or rights information;
  • claim authorship of someone else's material;
  • publish pirated copies or links used for unlawful distribution;
  • use another person's trademark or brand in a misleading way;
  • publish another person's image, voice or recording without the required basis.

A quotation should be identified as a quotation, be limited to a justified scope and not distort the meaning of the statement by taking it out of context.

18. Spam, advertising, sponsorship and automation

You may present your own lawful products, services, projects and activities if the publication:

  • is placed in the appropriate Category;
  • corresponds to the selected Post Type;
  • provides genuine information or value to the community;
  • is not mass-duplicated;
  • does not mislead recipients;
  • does not promote unlawful activity.

The following are prohibited, among other things:

  • mass or repetitive advertising;
  • repeatedly publishing the same or nearly the same Content;
  • promotional Comments unrelated to the discussion;
  • mass advertising links;
  • artificially generating activity;
  • automatically publishing, following or giving Reactions without the Service Provider's consent;
  • creating Accounts solely for spam or promotion that provides no value to the community.

If an author received payment, a free product or service, a discount, commission, revenue share or another benefit connected with a publication, the commercial nature of the Content must be clear from the outset. Clear wording such as “advertisement”, “sponsored material” or “paid partnership” should be used. A disclosure that is hidden, unclear or placed only at the end of lengthy material may be considered insufficient.

19. Artificial intelligence, synthetic material and deepfakes

Content created or substantially modified using artificial intelligence is permitted provided that it complies with all other rules.

The author remains responsible for:

  • the truthfulness and safety of the publication;
  • holding the required rights;
  • protecting other people's data and image rights;
  • not misleading recipients;
  • appropriately labelling the material.

Material should be clearly labelled as synthetic or substantially modified if the absence of such information could mislead recipients as to whether a person, statement, event, document or evidence is real.

AI may not be used for:

  • fraud or impersonation;
  • creating false evidence;
  • attributing to a real person a statement they did not make in a harmful or unlawfully misleading manner;
  • sexual deepfakes;
  • using the image of a minor in a sexual context;
  • harassment, blackmail or invasion of privacy;
  • automated publishing or manipulation of Reputation.

Satire, fiction, technical demonstrations and art may be permitted if their nature is clear and the material does not violate the law or the rights of other people.

20. Portal security and harmful technical activities

It is prohibited to:

  • take over or attempt to take over another person's Account;
  • publish passwords, tokens, private keys and other data enabling unauthorised access;
  • distribute viruses, ransomware, spyware, credential stealers or other malware;
  • engage in phishing;
  • bypass authentication, limits, blocks or safeguards;
  • scan for or test vulnerabilities without an appropriate basis or permission;
  • gain access to other people's data;
  • carry out DoS or DDoS attacks;
  • destabilise the Portal or place an excessive load on its infrastructure;
  • mass-download data using bots, crawlers or scrapers without permission;
  • alter, delete or damage other people's data.

A person who accidentally discovers a vulnerability may report it responsibly to security@reputonode.com. They should not expand their testing, download other people's data, disrupt the system or publicly disclose details that increase the threat before giving the Service Provider an opportunity to respond.

21. R+, R− and topic-specific Reputation

R+ and R− are mechanisms through which the community influences the topic-specific Reputation of the author's Account.

Each Reaction:

  • is given directly on a specific Post, Comment or Reply;
  • should result from an assessment of that specific Content;
  • affects the Reputation of the author of the rated Content in the Category of the parent Post;
  • does not create one overall rating of a person across all fields;
  • is not an official assessment by the Service Provider or a guarantee that the Content is true.

R− is a negative signal affecting the topic-specific Reputation of the author's Account. It is given on specific Content in connection with the assessment of that Content, and its effect is assigned to the author of that Content in the relevant Category. It should not be used as punishment for personal dislike of the author or as a way of judging the person as a whole outside the context of their specific contribution.

R− may reflect, among other things, an assessment that the Content is:

  • of little value or not useful;
  • incorrect or unreliable;
  • poorly substantiated;
  • inappropriate for the Category;
  • misleading;
  • inconsistent with the User's substantive assessment.

A difference of opinion does not have to result in an R−. The User independently assesses specific Content and is not required to justify a Reaction publicly.

R− does not replace a Report. If Content may violate the law, the Terms of Service or the Standards, use the “Report” button or the appropriate contact channel regardless of the Reaction given.

You may not:

  • give Reactions to your own Content;
  • use an additional Account or another person's Account to rate yourself;
  • buy, sell or exchange R+ or R−;
  • offer benefits in return for a particular Reaction;
  • force a Reaction through threats, pressure or blackmail;
  • organise coordinated attacks on Reputation;
  • enter into arrangements such as “R+ for R+” or “R− for R−”;
  • mass-rate an author for reasons unrelated to the assessment of their specific Content;
  • automate the giving of Reactions;
  • circumvent restrictions of the Reputation system.

You may neutrally ask others for an honest assessment of Content if the request does not suggest the direction of the Reaction, offer a benefit or serve to coordinate voting.

A large number of R− reactions does not automatically cause Content to be removed or an Account to be blocked. A large number of R+ reactions does not mean that ReputoNode has automatically approved the Content.

22. Categories, Post Types and quality of discussion

Choose a Category corresponding to the main subject of the Post and a Post Type that reflects the actual nature of the publication:

  • KNOW_HOW — I explain, teach or demonstrate a method;
  • MAKES — I present something I created, built or made;
  • SHARE — I share something I found, saw, learned about or want to pass on;
  • VOICE — I ask, comment, express an opinion or start a discussion.

You may not intentionally choose an incorrect Category or Post Type in order to:

  • obtain a more favourable effect on Reputation;
  • increase visibility;
  • reach an unrelated audience;
  • mislead other people;
  • circumvent Moderation.

Comments and Replies should remain related to the Post or the ongoing discussion. Repeated off-topic statements, repetition of the same Content, intentional disruption of a conversation and publishing solely to provoke Reactions may be prohibited.

Constructive criticism may be firm. It is nevertheless useful to identify exactly what you disagree with, distinguish fact from opinion, provide sources, avoid distorting quotations and avoid attributing statements to another person that they did not make.

23. Publication context

Moderation may take into account the actual context of Content, including in particular whether it is:

  • educational;
  • scientific;
  • historical;
  • journalistic;
  • documentary;
  • medical;
  • artistic;
  • satirical;
  • critical;
  • intended as a warning.

What matters is not only the declared purpose, but also the manner of presentation, scope of the material, title, description, accompanying explanation and foreseeable reception.

Context may justify leaving material available where, without an explanation, it might appear to be a violation. It does not, however, justify unlawful Content, child exploitation, pornography, genuine threats, fraud or unnecessary disclosure of another person's data.

An author should publish only the amount of sensitive material necessary to achieve a lawful purpose.

24. Reporting violations

Anyone may report Content, an Account or behaviour that may violate the law, the Terms of Service or the Community Standards.

Reports may be submitted:

  • using the “Report” button next to Posts, Comments and Replies;
  • by email to legal@reputonode.com — in particular for matters concerning an entire Account, Profile, User behaviour or another element for which the Portal does not provide a direct “Report” button.

[[KONTROLA PRZED PUBLIKACJĄ: potwierdź aktywność i regularną obsługę adresu legal@reputonode.com; usuń ten znacznik po weryfikacji.]]

A Report should, where possible, include:

  • an exact link or another indication of the specific Content;
  • a description of the violation;
  • reasons supporting the Report;
  • identification of relevant passages;
  • available evidence;
  • contact details if the reporting person wishes to receive a response or if they are required.

A single Report may describe several elements of the same issue, for example an avatar, name and Posts that together constitute impersonation by one Account. Unrelated matters concerning different Users should be reported separately.

A Report may be submitted anonymously, but the inability to contact the reporting person may make it impossible to obtain necessary information, verify entitlement or provide a response.

You may not knowingly submit false Reports in order to harm another person, exert pressure or overload Moderation.

Mere dissatisfaction with an opinion, criticism or an R− received does not constitute a violation.

25. Moderation actions

Moderation may begin following a Report, information from an authority, the Service Provider independently noticing a problem, or detection of a security threat.

Moderation is currently carried out manually by the Service Provider or an authorised person. ReputoNode does not routinely review every Post, Comment and Reply before publication.

Depending on the circumstances, the Service Provider may in particular:

  • leave Content unchanged;
  • change the Category or Post Type;
  • remove an unlawful or unnecessary part of Content;
  • remove a link, Medium, avatar, name, contact detail or the entire Content;
  • restrict the visibility of Content;
  • issue a warning;
  • temporarily restrict specified Account functions;
  • temporarily or permanently block an Account;
  • correct Reactions or Reputation;
  • preserve data needed to investigate the matter;
  • comply with a legally binding order of a competent authority;
  • notify a competent authority where required by law.

There is no automatic “three strikes” system. A serious violation may result in immediate removal of Content or permanent blocking of an Account. For less serious violations, a correction or warning may be applied.

When selecting an action, the following may be taken into account, among other things:

  • the nature and consequences of the violation;
  • the degree of risk;
  • whether the conduct was intentional or repeated;
  • previous violations;
  • the extent of public dissemination;
  • the rights and safety of the persons concerned;
  • whether the violation can be remedied by a less restrictive measure;
  • the context of the Content.

A lack of previous action against similar Content does not mean that the behaviour is permitted.

26. Information about a decision and appeal

If the Service Provider restricts Content, a function or an Account because of a violation of the law or ReputoNode rules, the affected User is informed of the decision and its main reasons to the extent required by law and the Terms of Service.

The information may include:

  • the action taken;
  • identification of the Content or Account;
  • the main facts and circumstances;
  • the rule infringed or legal basis;
  • information on whether automated means were used;
  • the available appeal procedure.

The scope of the information may be limited where required by law, security, protection of persons, fraud prevention or a binding instruction from an authority.

A User may appeal a Moderation Decision by sending a message to legal@reputonode.com. The appeal should identify the decision, Account or Content and explain why, in the User's view, the decision should be changed.

Following reconsideration, the decision may be upheld, changed or revoked. An appeal does not guarantee restoration of Content or an Account if the violation is confirmed or restoration is legally or technically impossible.

27. Changes to the Community Standards

The Standards may be updated in particular due to:

  • changes in law;
  • development of Portal functionality;
  • new forms of abuse;
  • a need to clarify examples;
  • changes to security or Moderation rules;
  • removal of ambiguities.

A purely editorial change or the addition of an example explaining an existing rule does not necessarily require renewed acceptance of the Terms of Service. A material change to prohibitions, obligations or User rights may require the procedure set out in the Terms of Service to be applied.

The current version of the Standards is publicly available in the Portal free of charge.
